In order to accelerate a net-zero emissions future-built environment with the wellbeing of people and planet at its heart, we must strive to limit global temperature rise to 1.5° C (2.7° F). Many carbon reduction efforts being carried out by building product manufacturers are designed to enable decarbonization of both new and existing buildings around the world.

The construction industry is the largest consumer of raw materials, with building and infrastructure accounting for 3.88 billion tons annually. The circular economy offers an innovative alternative to the current take-make-waste approach: an economic model based on resource efficiency, waste minimization and value retention and creation.
Access to water is a basic human right and a prerequisite to sustainable development. While water usage constitutes only a small percentage of material inputs for many construction industry leaders, we recognize the importance of this precious resource and aim to manage it in the most responsible manner.
