In celebration of Earth Day, our Langley team hosted a seed drive, distributing flower seeds to employees and the community. This initiative was a great way to encourage everyone to plant and nurture their own gardens. Additionally, the Langley team enhanced its commitment to sustainability by adding a garden to its beehive area to further promote biodiversity.

In Columbus, a team of volunteers took part in a local clean-up along Marion Road, removing an impressive 186 pounds of trash and recyclables. This initiative helped to beautify the area and create a cleaner environment for the community.

The Kingspan DeLand team took part in Volusia County’s 29th Annual Clean-Up at Lake Beresford Park, a 210-acre nature park in Florida. The team, including 36 Kingspan employees and their families and friends, collected a wide range of materials including aluminum, glass, plastic, rubber, tires, paper and metal. The event lasted three hours, and volunteers donated a total of 108 hours.

To ensure the event’s success, the team supplied safety vests, gloves, bags and grabbers, and provided refreshments to keep the volunteers energized. As a result of this impactful event, Kingspan plans to collaborate with Volusia County on additional community clean-up efforts.

In April, the Modesto team partnered with Operation 9-2-99 to restore the North bank of the Stanislaus River in preparation for Modesto RecFest. This clean-up effort was part of Kingspan’s ongoing mission to revitalize natural spaces and engage with the local community.

The Modesto plant hosted a successful pet food drive, collecting more than 1,000 pounds of food for Pupz N Palz Pet Rescue, a local animal welfare organization. This initiative highlights Kingspan’s continued commitment to supporting the well-being of animals in our communities.

At our Caledon facility, the team made significant strides in supporting electronic recycling efforts. Through a partnership with the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA), the team donated used electronic equipment such as laptops, tablets, minicomputers and monitors to support charitable organizations, non-profits and educational institutions in need.

Additionally, Caledon employees participated in a local clean-up effort, collecting 28 bags of waste in just one hour. More than 300 pounds of debris were removed, demonstrating the collective power of our team in preserving the environment.

In 2024, team members from the Caledon, Ontario, facility gathered gently used clothing from employees to donate to a local non-profit thrift store, Evolve Caledon. Here, 100% of the proceeds support the valuable programs operated by Caledon Community Services. The team was thrilled to support the community while lowering their eco-footprint by diverting goods from landfills.

To celebrate Earth Day in a Planet Passionate Communities way, team members at the Columbus, Ohio, plant picked up and recycled more than 400 pounds of waste. Volunteers at this facility also planted, potted, and tied together over 3,000 tree seedlings, which were given away to the community at the Linden tree nursery in October.

In 2024, volunteers in DeLand laced up their running shoes to participate in and support the annual ME STRONG 5k race. Each year, this 5k raises money to support community members and their families in the fight against cancer.

DeLand team members organized a Humane Society donation drive.

Employees at the Langley Plant supported two local charities through their 2024 clothing and food drive. Non-perishable food items were donated to the Aldergrove Food Bank, which has been serving the community for many years and currently provides groceries to roughly 100 families each week. Clothing donations went to Clothes 2U, an organization that assists low-income families and individuals with essentials such as clothing, footwear, books, and other non-perishable items. Thanks to the generosity of employees, a pickup truck was filled with boxes destined for both organizations.

The 2024 Langley toy drive donations were shared between two charities: the Aldergrove Food Bank and Chilliwack Community Services. In total, employees contributed more than 70 items. Chilliwack Community Services expressed their gratitude, noting that the donations helped fill 735 Christmas hampers and brought gifts to 1,788 children over the holiday season.

The Kingspan Modesto plant focused on supporting biodiversity in 2024. Volunteers worked diligently to care for three rescued beehives, playing a key role in supporting the health of the local bee population, which is vital to agricultural success and biodiversity. To make the area more welcoming to the bees and the Kingspan community, volunteers also started a California natural garden.

In 2024, the Kingspan Modesto plant hosted a backpack donation drive that aimed to provide local children with essential school supplies, ensuring they have the resources they need for academic success. By supporting the local community’s educational needs, Kingspan is helping to build a stronger, more resilient future for the next generation.

In May, more than 30 Kingspan team members, alongside their families, joined forces with the Modesto Outdoor Recreation Alliance’s Operation 9-2-99, an ongoing project to clean up along the Tuolumne River. By participating in this cleanup, Kingspan contributed to a healthier local ecosystem, helping to preserve this vital waterway and supporting the community's efforts to improve outdoor recreation spaces for all to enjoy.

To aid the local Columbus community, the Kingspan team in Columbus, Ohio, volunteered with Habitat for Humanity to help build safe and affordable homes. Volunteers helped with tasks including framing walls, installing siding, hanging drywall, caulking, priming, painting and landscaping. The homes will help shelter local families and strengthen the community.

In Monterrey, Mexico, Kingspan employees participated in a clean-up in La Huasteca Ecological Park. Located adjacent to the Santa Catarina River and between the Chipinque and Santa Catarina mountains, the site is a part of the Cumbres de Monterrey National Park which is designated as a reserve of the biosphere by UNESCO. The Kingspan volunteer team collected plastic and other inorganic trash throughout the reserve to help preserve the well-being of this ecologically significant site.

To support the local habitat and biodiversity, the Kingspan Langley plant in British Columbia launched an urban bee project in April. Partnering with Alvéole, a global company that helps urban commercial projects install and manage bee hives, Kingspan’s Langley facility installed and now successfully maintains two beehives. The hives help protect local habitats by supporting the bee population and fostering a relationship between Langley employees and the natural environment.

In Caledon, Ontario, Kingspan teams are using Kingspan insulated metal panels to build shelters for feral cats. These climate-controlled shelters help provide a warm refuge in the winter and a cool escape in the summer for our feline friends. The shelters protect the local feral cat population and create an opportunity to divert B-grade panels that would otherwise go to landfill.

As part of Kingspan’s Planet Passionate Day celebrations, which took place during September and October 2023, Kingspan employees across the Division took part in local clean-ups. In Columbus, Ohio, the team picked up 345 pounds of trash and 280 pounds of recyclables (626 pounds total) in just under an hour. In Caledon, Ontario, employees volunteered to pick up 30 pounds of trash around their site. To celebrate these initiatives and Planet Passionate Day, seed paper bookmarks that can be planted after use were gifted to employees.

In October 2022, a group of volunteers from the Columbus facility in partnership with the City of Columbus picked up 206 pounds of garbage and 113 pounds of recyclable waste.

In June 2022, 47 volunteers from Kingspan’s DeLand facility collected 120 pounds of trash and 30 pounds of plastics from Ormond Beach.

A crew from the Modesto facility was part of the Tuolumne River and surrounding park clean up with Operation 9-2-99 in October 2022. Together they were able to clean up 1,200+ pounds of garbage from the local environment.

In October 2021, 7 volunteers from the Kingspan Langley facility in Canada collected more than 52 pounds of trash from Hot Sands Beach in just under one hour.
